1^st Grade Teacher

Tell us about your family:
My husband, Michael, and I have 3 children Chandler, Lakyn, and Ashlyn. Chandler is married to Moira, and they have a son named Westley. Being a grandparent is the best title yet!

How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
I began my teaching career 25 years ago.

What makes you passionate about education?
Teachers have the most important job in the world! We get to instill a love of learning, help students grow through their struggles, and speak life over them every day!

What is your must-have classroom item?
I cannot function well without lots of storage bins to keep things organized.

If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
My choice would be Gifted Education.

What is something about you that might surprise people?
I've been fishing on the Amazon River in Brazil.

What is one item on your bucket list?
It has been my lifelong dream to visit Australia.
