It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Eric Dameron!
-----------------------------
Job Title:
6th – 12th Grade Instrumental Music
Tell us about your family:
I have been married to my awesome wife Darby Dameron for 26 years. We have two children, both LR grads. Michal, who is at MSU studying music education, and Aaron, who is working toward a degree in the welding industry.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
23 years
What makes you passionate about education?
Without a shadow of a doubt, I love being able to introduce students to band and then witnessing them mature as a person and a musician. To see them come in as a 6th grader, and walk out as a senior, knowing I contributed positively to their life along the way is humbling and rewarding. Many of these graduated students now consider me a personal friend.
What is your must-have classroom item?
Humor, a positive environment, and ketchup!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
Being blessed to work with grades 6-12, I get a diverse scope and am extremely happy!
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I enjoy being a classic truck enthusiast and owner, working on both of them in my shop. For my last two years at Fordland HS, I coached my only high school sport, serving as assistant baseball coach. Finally I love attending live rock concerts with Darby and my friends. Favorite band, Paralandra!
What is one item on your bucket list?
I'd like to one day travel to Ireland with Darby.
Thanks for being part of the Wildcat family, Eric!
