Job Title:
High School Mathematics, Tennis Coach
Tell us about your family (human and/or fur family):
My parents Pat and Ron, who live in Rogersville. My Brother and Sister-in-law Will and Shelby and their three sons – my nephews Peter, Luke and Jack. And my main sidekick Samson, who is a boarder-aussie.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
My mom and grandmother were both teachers, so i feel like i have been in education my entire life, but formally teaching since 2002.
How long have you worked for LR?
15 years
Why did you choose to work for LR?
It is home. I attended LR K-12. I grew up in these schools. With my mom being a teacher, I was in a school often. I earned a great education from everything offered in and out of the classroom, and was always so loved by the family of staff, educators, and administration here that i wanted to be part of continuing those traditions.
What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
It's my extended family, and a few actual family members.
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
PE – I would like to teach a Taekwondo class.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I've been a part of 20 of the 28 seasons of LR girls tennis as either a coach or player.
I am a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I'd like to learn to play the drums or the stand up bass.
What do you like to do when you're not at school?
In the summer, be outside doing something or front porch sittin'. In winter I like stay in the warm house and hang out with Samson.
Thanks Sarah! We’re so glad you’re a Wildcat!
