It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Elisabeth Cheminel-Roten!
-----------------------------
Job Title:
LRHS French/Spanish teacher. Dual-Credit instructor with MSU.
Tell us about your family:
My husband Aaron has been teaching fine arts at LRHS since 1998. Our 14 year old daughter attends LRHS. I am most grateful for my family.
How long have you worked for LR?
This is my 26th year. I can say I found my professional calling here.
What makes you passionate about education?
Watching my students grow as learners and individuals!
What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
1. I met my husband at LR and we have been working in the same building for 24 years. Let’s just say we understand each other on many levels!
2. I have had the support and freedom in this district to evolve as a teacher.
3. I get inspired by my students all the time.
4. LR is family to me. It’s that simple.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I am half-French, half-Vietnamese.
What is your favorite quote?
“Rien dans la vie n’est facile”. My father used to write this to me in letters since I was ten years-old. He meant that nothing worthwhile in life ever comes easy.
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I was a bartender once, but because I wouldn’t speak, nor smile, I made no tips. Needless to say it didn’t last long!
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I cannot imagine not being in education.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would like to know how to draw (he he).
Thanks for being part of the Wildcat family, Elisabeth!
