Middle School Social Studies Teacher, Football, Wrestling, and Baseball Coach

Tell us about your family:
I have an older sister, McCall, and two nephews, Parker (4) and Rowan (1) that I love to spend time with. I also have a husky named Rex Kwon Do that has been with me for 6 years!

How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my 4th year as a teacher here at Logan-Rogersville. My first and only teaching position.

What makes you passionate about education?
I love seeing the moment when my students or athletes figure something out or have success. seeing the "Ah Ha" moment when see their work pay off is the ultimate reward.

What is your must-have classroom item?
Sticky notes and pens. I am constantly writing notes to myself so I don’t forget things .

If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
If I weren’t teaching history I would probably teach PE. I am currently working towards a masters in Strength and Conditioning. Other than that I would love to teach a cooking or nutrition class.

What is something about you that might surprise people?
I was very close to going to culinary school before I got my teaching certification. I love to cook and entertain friends and I have dreams of one day owning a food truck or catering business

What is one item on your bucket list?
I want to see a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The Ideal concert would be John Mayer Trio but pretty much anyone would do.
