The Families First Coronavirus Response Act was not extended. Therefore, the USDA can no longer provide free meals for school age children. What does this mean for LR students?
Please fill out the application linked below and return to the district office. Applications can also be completed on-line. See on-line application instructions linked below.
Data collected from the Free and Reduced Meal Program applications is used to maintain meal count requirements, report to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for funding, and establish eligibility for other benefits. In addition, the school district receives reimbursement from the meal program through the funding formula created by the General Assembly based on the percentage of students who qualify.
We are offering an incentive to complete and submit the Free and Reduced Meal Program application (you do not have to qualify to win). Each student listed on the application will have their name entered in a drawing for a FREE $200 gas gift card! One student per school will win. Applications must be submitted by September 30, 2022 to be entered in the drawing.
