Assessment Resources

According to board policy (MSBA IL) regarding assessment, the Logan-Rogersville R-VIII school district will “use assessments as one indication of the success and quality of the district’s education program.” The purpose of the district’s assessment plan is to guide the selection and administration, and utilization of summative and formative assessments. Data obtained from assessments is intended to be used to inform educational decisions regarding 1) Student Achievement, 2) Student Guidance, 3) Instructional Change, 4) School and District Evaluation, and 5) Adequate Yearly Progress.

In compliance with MSIP Standard AS2.B, the Assessment Plan includes the following:

• Outline of tests administered district-wide and the purpose of each
• Description of how assessment results will be used and disseminated
• Guidelines for including students with disabilities in district testing programs
• Specific strategies for assessing the Show-Me Standards which are not assessed through the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP)
• Provisions for staff development activities directly related to the assessment program
• Provisions for teaching test-taking skills to students
• Test security policy

In addition to the required components, the Assessment plan also includes information regarding informing instruction through the use of data analysis, improving student learning through formative feedback to students as well as a glossary of important assessment terms.
