It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Sara Mashburn!

Job Title:
Second Grade Teacher
Tell us about your family (human and/or fur family):
My husband, Dylan, and I have been married for four years. We have one daughter, Mallee, and a son, due around Christmas break! We are passionate about the outdoors and try to spend our time in the woods hunting any chance we get.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my fourth year teaching.
How long have you worked for LR?
Two years down, forever to go! (Well until retirement, that is...) ;)
Why did you choose to work for LR?
Growing up in California, Missouri, I knew that I wanted to get back to my roots of living in a small town. With my husband's business in Springfield, we began the search for which small town would feel like home within the area. It didn't take us long to decide LR is where we wanted to be! There is nothing better than the family you gain within the LR School District!
What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
It would be a hard toss up between having the best principal any teacher could ask for or all of Nurse Robyn's treats/cupcakes that I am constantly eating! They are both the closest thing to what a "teacher heaven" would be like!
What stereotype about teachers is true?
You can tell it's a full moon without even looking outside!
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I grew up on the back of a motorcycle. My parents are avid Harley riders. This resulted in my sister and me attending Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, in South Dakota, 17 years in a row!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
Nothing else! Second grade is my niche!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Fold a fitted sheet!
What do you like to do when you're not at school?
Spending time with my family, staying the weekend at our "Little Cedar" at Pomme De Terre, and getting time to hunt!
Thanks, Sara! We are so glad you’re here!
