It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Carrie Panique!
-----------------------------
Job Title:
Primary School Art Teacher
Tell us about your family:
I am the proud mom of twin 16 year old boys, Cameron and Caden. They are sophomores at LRHS and active in basketball and baseball. Lee is my other half. He and I love to stay active playing coed softball with our friends. At home, we have two furry boys, Barkley (who lives up to his name!) and Bader (the gentle giant). My heart (and home) is full!
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my 20th year in education. My first 16 years were spent teaching first grade here at LRP!
What makes you passionate about education?
I absolutely love my job! I can't think of anything else I'd rather do! I love building relationships with students to let each of them know they are important and that they matter. I want them to be excited to come to school each day!
What is your must-have classroom item?
Fine point Sharpies
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I think it would be fun to burn some energy in PE with the K-1 kiddos!
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I played college basketball! My first year was at a small D-1 school in South Carolina (Wofford), then I transferred home and played three years at Drury. I was actually on the inaugural team! (I'm old!)
What is one item on your bucket list?
I would love to go on an African safari!
Thanks for being a part of the Wildcat team, Carrie!
