Job Title:
Middle School Special Education and Assistant MS Girls Basketball Coach
Tell us about your family:
I am blessed with the best! My parents have always loved and supported me in everything I have done. I am very close to my two younger sisters, Makinley and Adrien, and I have a wonderful boyfriend, Blake. I can't forget about my sweet rescue poodle, Louie, who brings me so much joy!
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my second year of teaching! Prior to this year, I taught 4th-6th grade Grammar and Spelling in my hometown of Lockwood, MO. This is my first year in Special Education.
What makes you passionate about education?
I’m passionate about teaching because I truly enjoy building meaningful relationships with my students. Their unique perspectives and enthusiasm bring me so much joy, and watching them grow and succeed is incredibly rewarding. My job is joyful and enjoyable because of them!
What is your must-have classroom item?
Candy! We all need a little pick-me-up from time to time! On a real note...pencils. I've lost count of how many I have given away!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
If I were to teach another grade, I would teach any grades between 3rd and 5th grade. If I had to choose a new subject, I would teach P.E.!
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I played three years of college basketball. I played 2 years at Benedictine College and 1 year at Evangel University.
What is one item on your bucket list?
I would LOVE to visit Santorini, Greece. I have seen all the beautiful pictures and it is a goal of mine to make it there someday. I love to travel and see the world.
Rylee, we’re so glad to have you as part of the LR team!
