Get the Lead Out of Schools Drinking Water Act

In order to be compliant with the Missouri law known as the "Get the Lead out of School Drinking Water Act," the Logan-Rogersville School District will conduct sampling and testing of all potential drinking water sources in the school.  The results of the water testing, including any corrective actions and retesting needed, will be linked below.  All testing will be completed before August 20, 2024.

May 13, 2024

In 2022, Missouri Legislation took a step forward to reduce lead exposure in Missouri children by passing the Get the Lead out of School Drinking Water Act (Section 160.077, RSMo).
This Act sets a new standard in Missouri (5 ppb) for lead concentrations in school drinking water which is lower than the lead action level set nationally by the Environmental Protection Agency (15 ppb) for public water systems. The Act requires schools to conduct inventory, sampling, remediation, and monitoring at all drinking water outlets used or potentially used for drinking, food preparation, and cooking or cleaning utensils in a school building.

Logan-Rogersville School District has tested all water fountains, bottle fillers, and sources of cooking water in all schools. No water fountains or bottle fillers were found to be above the state action level. Below are the outlets that tested above the new Missouri standard. The full Drinking Water Lead Analysis report can be found HERE.
