Tell us about your family (human and/or fur family):
My husband, Zach, and I have been married for almost 13 years. We have two children, Henry who is in 2nd grade and Benne who is in preschool. We have a dog named Millie and a leopard gecko named Luna.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my 13th year as a science teacher.
How long have you worked for LR?
This is my first year at LR.
What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
The support I receive from my coworkers. Since I am new to the district, having their support has helped me be successful and feel prepared. Also, LR is a terrific community with incredible parent support. The schools are extremely supportive of their staff and the kids are great!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I love what I'm doing, I wouldn't change a thing!
What is your favorite quote?
"Be the change that you wish to see in the world." -Mahatma Gandhi
What book are you currently reading?
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
What do you like to do when you're not at school?
Spending time with my family and anything outdoors! My family loves to canoe our beautiful Missouri rivers and go camping.
Anything else you would like people to know about you?
I love football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs!
Thanks for being a Wildcat, Jessica!
