Job Title:
Music Teacher
Tell us about your family:
I am married to an incredible woman named Anna, who teaches middle and high school math classes, and we are blessed with two kids. Our 4 year old daughter is named Addison and our 2 year old son is named Andrew.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my 12th year in education
What makes you passionate about education?
I love making connections with students. I enjoy learning about their lives, passions, abilities, and quirks; and I enjoy seeking to make connections between them and the content of my class. Seeing connection and ability grow over time is absolutely incredible.
What is your must-have classroom item?
Post it notes and a pen
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
If I had to choose something different, I would teach a humanities course - examining art, music, literature, and history over time
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I began my teaching career in Thailand, continued it in Canada, and now enjoy teaching in my home state - Missouri!
What is one item on your bucket list?
Someday I hope to travel the rails, taking a sleeper train around the US and Canada visiting National Parks!
We’re so glad you’re part of the Wildcat family, Nathan!
