It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.

Job Title:
Middle School Math Teacher
Tell us about your family:
My wife, Lacy, is an SLP at the LR Primary School. Our daughter, Emmie, is a 1st grader there as well. Our family loves to travel and and spend time doing things together. We enjoy biking, sitting at the creek, making meals, and playing games. We have 2 cats, and live in Springfield, MO.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my 20th year as an educator.
What makes you passionate about education?
I love helping students feel confident in their abilities and fostering a love of learning. Making connections with the students and seeing the "aha moments" happen in real time keep me going. I love finding ways to help kids understand and enjoy the content we teach.
What is your must-have classroom item?
Flair Pens and Post-It notes, but fueled by coffee!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
Science or Social Studies. I love learning (and teaching) about cultures and how the world works!
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I love to cook and bake. I make all sorts of things around the holidays; anything from Pumpkin Rolls to Pierogies.
What is one item on your bucket list?
I'd love to visit Australia. It seems like a fascinating and beautiful place.
Thanks for being a part of the Wildcat family Ross!
