Tell us about your family:
I have two beautiful daughters. Jenalee is 28 and Jorja is 23. We enjoyed a mother daughter Disney World trip last May to celebrate Jorja's graduation from MSU. We had an amazing time.

How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
31 years

What makes you passionate about education?
I love working with kids and helping them learn to read. First graders make a lot of progress in reading and it is a joy to be a part of it.

What is your must-have classroom item?
Post-it notes - I sometimes need to write something down quickly so I don't forget.

If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
Speech Language Pathologist

What is something about you that might surprise people?
I became a Cheifs football fan in 2018. I never cared for the sport until Patrick Mahomes came along!

What is one item on your bucket list?
I would love to take a trip to Hawaii or Alaska.
