It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.

This week we are introducing you to Clarey Fox!

-----------------------------

Job Title:
High School and Elementary Art Teacher

Tell us about your family (human and/or fur family):
My husband, Matthew, and I have been married for five years. We have been together since we were juniors in high school. We have a one and a half year old son, Callen, who is full of energy and climbs everything!!!

How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my first year as a teacher! Previously I have worked in other districts as a para and a before and after school coordinator.

How long have you worked for LR?
This is my first year at LR.

Why did you choose to work for LR?
Everyone I talked to told me how much they loved LR and how supportive and encouraging it was here.

What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
My favorite thing about LR is the community!

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
I have always loved art, but it wasn't until I started working at a before and after school program that I realized how much I loved working with kids. Its amazing to see how their confidence in everything grows when they are encouraged and find something they are good at.

What's the greatest misconception about teachers?
We get the whole summer off for vacation... haha.

What stereotype about teachers is true?
They will spend half their paycheck to make sure their students have everything they need.

What is something about you that might surprise people?
My house is 110 years old and it took us over two years to remodel it.

What is your favorite quote?
" I feel there is nothing more artistic than loving people" -Vincent Van Gogh

What's the weirdest job you've ever had?
I was a tour guide at Smallin Cave in Ozark for one summer.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I would love to do murals in museums and stores (like the ones at Bass Pro and Wonders of Wildlife).

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would love to learn to play the violin. I tried orchestra class in junior high, but I have forgotten all of it.

What do you like to do when you're not at school?
Art... haha. I love creating, whether it is painting, building, or just drawing.
