OPERATING LEVY
Additional Safety Personnel:
This levy will be used to hire additional safety personnel for better coverage of the district’s five (5) campuses.
Recruiting and Retaining Highly Qualified Faculty & Staff:
This levy will also be used to improve district salary schedules for the purpose of recruiting and retaining highly qualified faculty and staff. Currently Logan-Rogersville teachers rank at the bottom in starting pay and masters degree level compensation, as well as the ability to finish a career at LR and be compensated similarly to neighboring school districts (see charts).
We anticipate teachers will receive a 6% base raise plus adjusted step increments to improve compensation for advanced degrees and years of experience. Our goal is for support staff to receive a minimum $1.00 per hour raise. Once assessed valuation numbers come in from the counties, we will be able to finalize salary schedule increases to be competitive with area schools.
The goal is not to surpass SPS, Nixa, Ozark, etc. The goal is for an LR teacher’s compensation to be relatively close to neighboring districts near the end of their career. The salary scenario we are working with would close the $15,000 gap behind Ozark to within a couple thousand dollars.
